Our History

Our company, Laird Brothers has been a family run company since quarry operations commenced at Lochhead quarry in Forfar in 1958 and we are now a flourishing fourth generation independent company.  We have strengthened our product portfolio, working hard to continually deliver and become the country’s leading independent concrete block expert. Years of research and development means we can bring excellent quality and service to every single job you do, for concrete blocks, block paving and readymix concrete giving you security and peace of mind.

Our new state of the art concrete products factory is currently the most advanced of it’s type within northern Europe with the capacity to output over 1 million m2 per annum.  Combined with our own aggregates, our new range of landscaping products brings the very latest colour blending to your door and utilises the best technologies to create a product unrivalled in the market, allowing us to become the most diverse concrete products manufacturer in Scotland, in terms of product range.

Our Delivery

Using locally sourced company-owned aggregates and delivering materials to our customers on our own fleet of 2 cement tankers, 18 mixer trucks, 1 volumetric and 20 artics - including many with mechanical off load facilities - gives us a competitive edge, allowing us to sell products throughout Scotland and the North of England.

Our ready-mix concrete company J&A Laird Ltd serves the Tayside, South Aberdeenshire and Perthshire markets with our plants at Forfar and Blairgowrie.
